Provide drivers with the correct packing list information:
The load weight, volume, etc.
How to load the cargo.
What to do if the cargo is transferred to another flatbed.
This is crucial, especially if the driver did not personally load their vehicle. Provide a loading plan for all relevant personnel.
Loading steps
Set the manual brake.
Keep the vehicle in gear to prevent accidental release of the manual brake if the truck rocks.
The cargo should be placed tightly against the front end of the vehicle bed and fixed.
Place the cargo tightly against the front end of the vehicle bed and secure it.
Ensure the cargo's center of gravity is as low as possible.
Stabilize and tie down the cargo to minimize the risk of it falling during unloading.
If the cargo is not at the front end of the vehicle bed, implement measures to prevent it from moving. Use extra straps and chains in addition to basic strapping for added securing.
Install strapping materials to prevent forward, backward, or lateral movement.
If the vehicle lacks designated tie-down points, ensure the chosen fixing points have the structural strength to secure the strapping properly.
