Requirements:
The truck must pass a pre-installation inspection and evaluation to determine its suitability for safely transporting the proposed goods.
Maintain the vehicle in good working and repair condition before departure.
Good working condition: Ensure all equipment and functions on the truck are operational.
Condition and maintenance: The vehicle should be free from obvious damage and well-maintained. In addition, the wear and tear of all parts should be within the manufacturer's recommended range.
Investigate and maintain the vehicle to ensure it can safely transport designated goods on planned routes.
Each seat must have an effective seat belt.
Equip the vehicle with a fire extinguisher, wheel chocks, a first aid kit, a triangle warning sign, a spill clean-up kit, and high-visibility vests and hard hats for all passengers.
Ensure there is sufficient safety equipment (such as chains, packing materials, sealing tape, boxes, cartons, etc.) to secure the cargo and prevent it from shifting during transport.
Tires must meet the minimum standards of the jurisdiction.
Standards:
Install an In-Vehicle Monitoring System (IVMS) to quantify and report driver performance and location.
Install a reversing alarm on the vehicle.
The cargo trailer must have a safety separation measure between the cargo and the cabin.
